SIDNEY — Scott Barr, Shelby County United Way executive director, has announced the 2019 board president will be Adam Koenig, CFO, Koenig Equipment.

Koenig has been a member of the Board of Trustees for three years, serving the past two years on the Executive Committee. He also serves on the Community Initiatives Committee and as an allocations team member for Caring for People in Crisis.

“Serving as board president of the Shelby County United Way is an honor,” said Koenig. “My time with the Shelby County United Way continues to be humbling as my eyes are opened to the basic human needs present all around us. I have been uplifted by the passion and tireless work of the people leading our 29 partner agencies and programs; they make real differences in the lives of our neighbors. So too do the gifts of time, talent, and treasure from the rest of us.”

For the last eight years, Koenig has been with Koenig Equipment and is a part of the fourth generation of that family business. Prior, he worked in public accounting after earing his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Wright State University. He and his wife, Leah, recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. They reside in Botkins and are the parents of five children.
