Maria Stein woman dies in Friday evening crash

MINSTER — A Maria Stein woman died as a result of a two-vehicle crash Friday evening in Minster, according to the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP).

Amy E. Reichert, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred on state Route 119 near mile post 1 in Auglaize County on Friday, Sept. 27, around 7:22 p.m.

According to a press release from OSP, Reichert was operating a light blue 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound on state Route 119 when she lost control and traveled into the eastbound lane and struck an eastbound black 2005 Pontiac Vibe that was driven by Stacy P. Carr, 29, of New Bremen.

Both vehicles sustained severe, disabling damage.

Carr was transported by Minster EMS to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital and then was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Joint Township District Memorial Hospital EMS, for precautionary reasons, the release said.

Reichert was pronounced deceased by Minster Fire and EMS at the scene of the crash and then was transported to Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.

According to the release, both Carr and Reichert were wearing a properly adjusted seat belt.

Alcohol in not suspected in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by OSP’s Wapakoneta Post.
