Academia season is back in Shelby county

SIDNEY – The 2019 Academia season is underway. Over 200 students were represented on the rosters of the nine participating school districts. Sidney’s match one total of 56 points was the highest score at the three sites. Sidney, Fort Loramie and Botkins were the first place teams in week one.

Academia provides students with a chance to connect their classroom efforts to real world activities as they tackle questions across 10 categories: literature, language, fine arts, sports/entertainment, current events, science, math and general knowledge. The competition brings together the area’s top scholars and gives them the opportunity to showcase their intellectual skills.

Competition will continue for the next four weeks on Monday nights. At the end of the season one school will be named the champion.
