Johnston Farm opens June 3

PIQUA — The Johnston Farm and Indian Agency will begin it 2021 season on Thursday, June 3.

The site will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.. to 5 p.m. as well as Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The site will be closed both Independence Day and Labor Day. Admission is $9 for adults, $4 for children 6-12, AAA and senior discounts are honored, and Johnston Friends Council members and Ohio History Connection members are admitted at no charge.

Health and safety protocols that are in place throughout the summer will be followed to ensure a safe environment for each visitor.

The schedule of special events for the 2021 season includes:

Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13, 2021, noon to 5 p.m., Family Days at the Johnston Farm

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 23, 24, and 25, 2021, History Alive at Fort Piqua

Friday and Saturday, Aug. 6 and 7, 2021, reservation event, 6:30 p.m., Evening on the Canal

Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, noon to 5 p.m., Fall Celebration at the Johnston Farm

Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, reservation event, details TBD, Christmas at the Johnston Farm

The organization is committed to serving the needs of the public while taking precautionary steps to insure the health and safety of the public, volunteers and staff. They will follow all safety guidelines set by the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Governor DeWine. Each program will be dependent on the current safety guidelines in effect at the time of the event and all events may not be able to go on as scheduled.
