Fruhlingsfest planned for April 30

MINSTER — A new adult festival is kicking off Saturday, April 30, called Fruhlingsfest (German for “Springfest”). It will include many of the headliners from the Minster Oktoberfest, including The Klaberheads, Karma’s Pawn and the DeMange Brothers on two stages. The event is held at the Niekamp Farm, 4822 State Route 66, Minster.

However, this festival has an unusual twist, including a human Glockenspiel, a fun attraction at Cincinnati and Cleveland Oktoberfests. A Glockenspiel is a elevated Gernan decorated stage where local celebrities on the hour perform for the crowd, before ringing a large bell to mark the time. Sometimes the performers are announced but most times the performance is best left as a surprise.

The schedule of events include 3:15 p.m., doors open; 4:15 p.m., opening ceremonies; 4:30 p.m., Karma’s Pawn; 7 p.m., DeMange Brothers; and 8:30 p.m., The Klaberheads.

Fruhlingsfest is raising money for Minster Ministries, a new local 501c3 dedicated to youth and adult faith formation in the local area. Minster Ministries already holds known events such as pX Games.

The festival is donation-driven. You can find ways to attend at spring-fest.com. The event is BYOB.
