Tennant’s Total Lawn Care serves Shelby, Miami counties

SIDNEY – A new landscaping business is now servicing Shelby and Miami counties, just in time for the peak yard work season.

Mark Tennant, the owner and operator of Tennant’s Total Lawn Care, LLC and a resident of Sidney, has been involved in lawn care since he was a kid helping his stepdad – the pastor of a church who cut grass on the side – maintain several of the properties he owned, including his church. He never made a profit from cutting grass until he started the business in March, which he balances with his other job at UPS.

“I’ve been cutting grass since I was old enough to hold a string trimmer,” Tennant said in a Facebook comment. “I worked 10 years in the factory and decided I’ve went as far as I’m going to make it and decided to make a change in my life.”

Tennant estimated that he has about 15 customers so far, and his customers return for his services. This could be due to his business being licensed and insured as well as his previous experience and the local, family-owned and operated appeal.

If Tennant gets behind on work, his brothers will jump in and help. He and his brothers are the only employees of the business currently, but he would like to expand in the future if possible.

Tennant’s lawn care work usually costs between $30 and $60 depending on the size of the yard and how much work needs to be done. Tennant’s Total Lawn Care offers free estimates and Tennant said he will work from 9 a.m. until dark every day if there is work to be done. He also takes calls all day.
