SIDNEY — Projects under the direction of the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 7, on area streets and roads is continuing.
Numerous projects are anticipated to affect state highways in Shelby County this week. All outlined work is weather permitting. Visit the ODOT website and OHGO.com for travel updates.
Interstate 75 maintenance – Expect lane restrictions on I-75, in each direction, between Country Road 25A (Exit 94) and Botkins Road (Exit 104), on Tuesday, May 31, through Friday, Sept. 30, from 8 p.m. – 7 a.m. Crews will be performing an asphalt overlay. One 12-foot lane will be maintained in the work zone.
State Route 706 maintenance –Expect lane closures on state Route 706 between state Route 29 to the Logan County Line through Friday, Sept. 20, from 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Crews will be performing chip sealing. Traffic will be maintained with a flagger in the work zone.
State Route 589 Bridge Repairs – state Route 589 will close between Suber Road and Middleton Hume Road on Tuesday, May 31, through Tuesday, June 28, from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Crews will be performing bridge work. The detour is U.S. 36 eastbound to state Route 235 northbound to state Route 29 westbound.
State Route 47 Sidewalk Reconstruction – Expect lane restrictions on state Route 47 between I-75 Interchange and Fourth Avenue, through Friday, Nov. 11. Crews are reconstructing the center median and installing handicap ramps. The City of Sidney is the contact for this project.
According to the city of Sidney, Fourth Avenue at West Michigan Street between state Route 47 (Court Street) and Grove Street will be closed for approximately 30 days starting Monday, May 9, 2022. A contractor will be replacing sanitary sewer and manholes in and near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and West Michigan Street.
The project will be completed in two phases and detours will be posted for each phase. During Phase I the entire intersection of Fourth and Michigan will be closed to through traffic, with a traffic detour. During Phase II, once work is completed through the intersection it will reopen and Fourth Avenue north of the intersection will be closed.
Miami County
Interstate 75 Bridge Replacement – I-75 Bridges over Rush Creek (near Piqua Country Club) will be removed and replaced. I-75 will experience a traffic pattern shift and lane restrictions in each direction, between the Shelby County Line and County Road 25A. Estimated completion is fall 2022. Interstate 75 Traffic Shifts– Expect a traffic pattern shift on I-75 southbound, through Thursday, June 30. A single left-lane of I-75 southbound will shift onto I-75 northbound from the Shelby County Line then shifts back prior to the County Road 25A ramp. Drivers will be able to access the County Road 25A ramps. Both lanes of I-75 southbound will be 10’ thru-lanes. There will also be two 10’ side-by-side thru-lanes on I-75 northbound that will shift to the right. Crews will be working on a bridge replacement project. Traffic will be maintained in the work zone.
Interstate 75 Bridge Sealing –Expect outside shoulder closures on I-75 southbound, between County Road 25A (Piqua-Troy Road) and North County Road 25A, on Friday, June 3 ,through Monday, Aug. 22, from 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Crews will be patching and sealing the bridge abutments and piers.
Ginghamsburg Road Bridge Sealing – Expect shoulder closures on Ginghamsburg Road under I-75, between South County Road 25A and South Tipp-Cowlesville Road, on Thursday, June 16, through Friday, July 29, from 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Crews will be patching and sealing the bridge pier.
Logan County
State Route 47 Roundabout Project- ODOT will convert the intersection of state Route 47 at state Route 235 into a roundabout. Expect road closures and lane restrictions in the work zone. Estimated completion is Fall 2022.Visit the project page for more information.
State Route 47 Roundabout Construction – state Route 47 will close between Township Road 21 and Township Road 208 on Friday, May 27, through Friday, Sept. 30. Crews will be constructing a roundabout. There will be an entrance to Saucy Sows Farm Market from state Route 235 only.
The state Route 47 westbound detour is U.S. 68 northbound to U.S. 33 westbound to state Route 274 westbound to state Route 65 southbound.
The state Route 47 eastbound detour is state Route 65 northbound to state Route 274 eastbound to U.S. 33 eastbound to U.S. 68 southbound.
State Route 235 Roundabout Construction – Expect lane restrictions on state Route 235 at state Route 47 through Friday, Sept. 30 from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. There will be one 12-foot lane maintained by flaggers and cones periodically. There will be an entrance to Saucy Sows Farm Market from state Route 235 only.
State Route 235 Maintenance – Expect lane closures on state Route 235, in each direction, between River Road and County Road 43, through Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Crews will be performing an asphalt overlay. Expect one 12-foot lane to be maintained with flaggers and cones.
State Route 274 Maintenance – Expect lane closures on state Route 274, in each direction, between state Route 117 and Township Road 238, through Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Crews will be performing an asphalt overlay. Expect one 12-foot lane to be maintained with flaggers and cones.
State Route 508 Maintenance – Expect lane closures on state Route 508, in each direction, between state Route 235 and Quail Ridge Drive, through Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Crews will be performing asphalt overlay. Expect one 12-foot lane to be maintained with flaggers and cones.
