Commissioners award contract, release fees and provide services

SIDNEY – The Shelby County commissioners awarded a contract, released permissive license fees and provided dog shelter services for a nearby county in October.

The contract for the sheriff’s building flooring project was awarded to Westerheide Construction Company for $142,400.

Permissive license fees were released totaling $125,370.94 to the city of Sidney and $4,319.46 to the village of Russia.

The commissioners also entered into an agreement to provide dog shelter services to Logan County.

Payments toward weekly expenditures were approved totaling $644,632.30 (Oct. 11), $646,221.30 (Oct. 13), $1,908,229.89 (Oct.20), and $597,410.86 (Oct. 27). Sales tax was also transferred from the general fund to the engineer’s fund ($174,508.60) and to the capital improvement fund ($174,508.59).
