Duct tape festival seeks fashions

AVON — The 13th annual Avon Heritage Duck Tape Festival will be June 17-19 in Veterans Memorial Park, here.

The festival includes a parade featuring floats made out of Duck Tape, an arts and crafts tent and life-sized Duck Tape sculptures. There will be food, rides, family-friendly games and more, including a live performance by American rock guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Lita Ford, best known as lead guitarist for the popular all-female ’70s band, The Runaways.

Enthusiasts can enter the All American Duck Tape Fashion Show in their Duck Tape outfits for a chance to win the grand prize of a two-night stay and waterpark admission for four at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions. To enter, each participant is required to wear at least one main article of clothing and one accessory made out of Duck Tape. For information, visit DuckTapeFestival.com. Participants will receive a voucher that can be redeemed toward their favorite Duck Tape swag at the Duck Tape General Store! And to support those who dedicate their lives to our freedom, for every person who enters the fashion show, Duck brand will donate $10 to be shared between the Greater Cleveland Fisher House and USO of Northern Ohio, up to $10,000.

The Avon Heritage Duck Tape Festival takes place at Veterans Memorial Park, 3701 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Avon, June 17: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; June 18: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; June 19: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Duck Tape parade starts at 10 a.m., Saturday, beginning at Avon High School and ending at Veterans Memorial Park

Admission is free for this three-day family festival, which annually draws more than 60,000 duct tape enthusiasts from around the world. Additionally, the first 500 attendees each day will receive a free roll of Duck Tape.
