Avery Shoffner, 10, of Anna, daughter of Kevin and Jenni Schoffner, recently competed at the 2016 Ohio State Fair in the Junior Fair Breeding Sheep Division. In the Southdown Division, Avery placed second in the Early Spring Ram Lamb Class, third in the Late Spring Ram Class, first in the Early Yearling Ewe Class, fifth in the Late Yearling Ewe Class, first in the February Ewe Lamb Class, second in the March Ewe Lamb class, and the first place Flock, consisting of two ewe and one ram. She also exhibited the Grand Champion Ewe. During the Southdown show, points are accumulated for each class, for the number in the class, and how you place. Avery was also named the Premier Exhibitor for the Junior Southdown Breeding Sheep Show. She also placed fourth in the Rambouillet Spring Ram Lamb Class, fourth in the Rambouillet Yearling Ewe Class, second with her Rambouillet Spring Ewe Lamb and third with her Rambouillet Flock. Shoffner also placed fourth in the first session of showmanship and third in the second session of showmanship. She is a member of Anna Livestock 4-H Club.
