Local musicians in state fair band

COLUMBUS — Five girls represented Shelby County at the 2015 Ohio State Fair as part of the All-Ohio State Fair Band..

Amanda Frazier, 18, clarinet, and Megan Frazier, 15, trumpet, daughters of Jackie and Tracy Frazier of Russia; Amber Buehler, 17, trumpet, daughter of Dawn and Keith Buehler, of Botkins; Sarah Knoop, 17, clarinet, daughter of Julie and Dan Knoop, of Sidney; and Emma Vallandingham, 15, clarinet, daughter of Lora and Josh Vallandingham, of Russia, rehearsed at the fair for several days.

They learned almost 60 pieces of music and performed 90 concerts, all under the direction of Donald F. Santa-Emma, who has led the All-Ohio State Fair Band since 1999.
