Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education
PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Adams Board Room. Prior to the meeting, a board welcome reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Wilson Atrium.
Items on the agenda include reports from the board president, board member and superintendent; approval of local grant funds; approval of a one-time payment to all regular full-time an part-time staff who were employed in the adult division during the 2015-16 contract year; accept various donations; approve a copier lease; approve an agreement with Sunguard for software; and various items dealing with personnel.
Sidney City Council
SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building. They will hear a presentation on the Sidney City Schools’ levy.
Council is expected to adopt an ordinance to amend an ordinance regarding water utility usage. There will be introduction of the ordinance to levy special assessments for the construction and replacement of certain curbs and gutters in the city.
Council is expected to adopt five resolutions, and they are for:
• Authorization to submit a proposal with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) division of aviation for pavement improvements at the Sidney Municipal Airport;
• Approval for the Asbusy replat;
• Approval for the Grace Baptist replat;
• Approval for the Hi Grade Oil replat;
• Authorizing for payment of amounts due to a vendor of Sidney
They will also be a discussion on the cancellation of December meetings.
Jackson Center Village Council
JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Village Council will meet Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in council chambers. The council will read ordinances to adjust appropriations, establish job classifications and rates for village employees, and make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures.
The council will also have a discussion about refuse collection. Committees and village officials will give reports as well.
New Knoxville Board of Education
NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in the media center.
The board will hear reports from the New Knoxville Education Association, principals and superintendent. They are expected to hire an assistant treasurer/treasurer and substitute teachers and custodian. Other items on the agenda include a donation, approval of an out-of-state field trip and changing the November and December board meeting dates.
Minster Board of Education
MINSTER — The Minster Board of Education will meet on Monday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. in the Elementary School Large Group Meeting Room. The board will accept donations and recognize students.
They will hear reports from various officials and committees, and go over the treasurers report. In unfinished business they will speak about the Ohio School Facilities Update. In new business they will approve a real estate purchase contract, a Verizon wireless small cell proposal, and personnel recommendations.
North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management District
URBANA — The board of directors of the North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management District will hold its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 9 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Champaign County Community Center, 1512 S. Main St., Urbana.
