CRIDEERSVILLE — Cridersville will be celebrating its annual Legacy Park Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. The park is located at 300 E. Main St.

Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the dedication of the new Memorial Flag Pole, a project of the Cridersville High School Class of 1965. The ceremony will include a special flag presentation, comments by class members, and patriotic music by the Wapakoneta High School Acapella Choir and the Little Hog Creek Dulcimers.

Following the dedication, Sweet Caroline’s Bar-b-que Chicken Dinners will be served. Pre-sale tickets are not required. Grilled big-beef hotdogs, popcorn, ice cream sundaes, and beverages will also be available. There will be free entertainment from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Little Hog Creek Dulcimers, WHS Acapella Choir, and John Butler who performs classic songs from the 1950s and 60s.

The event will also include pony rides and a local history tour in a covered wagon with stops at the Daniel Bowsher Log Home. Plus, there will be a cake wheel, fish pond, ring toss, plinko, putter golf, old fashioned kids games, and raffle prizes. “There is something for everyone,” said Event Chair Stacey Cook. “We hope folks will join us for big fun at this year’s Social.”

The event is a fund raiser for continued improvements at Legacy Park. Major event sponsors include TSC, Minster Bank, Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Aspire Home Health Care, Cridersville Lions Club, and Walmart with additional support from Cridersville Health Care Center and Hempy Water.
