SIDNEY — Bryan S. Drees, 20, 112 Park St., Russia, appeared in the Shelby County Common Pleas Court last week to change his plea to guilty.

He originally plead not-guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, felonies of the fourth-degree. Last week he submitted a petition to plea guilty to the court on amended charges of one count of aggravated assault, a felony of the fourth degree, and to dismiss the second count.

The indictment on the original charges, handed down in July, stemmed from an incident in January, and then May, when he was accused of engaging in sexual conduct with someone over the age of 13, but less than 16-years-old. The indictment stated in the first count, “he had oral sex with a 15-year-old-juvenile.” The second count said, “he had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old juvenile.”

The amended charge he plead guilty to holds a maximun prison term of 18 months and a $5,000 fine. He will be sentenced on Nov. 25 at 3 p.m.
