LAKEVIEW — The Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew has announced that it raised more than $46,000 this year to benefit hospices.

A donation of $11,500 was provided to each of the four hospice facilities in the surrounding area: Caring Hearts supporting the efforts of Universal Health & Hospice in Bellefontaine, Tri-County Hospice in Wapakoneta, Hardin County Hospice in Kenton, and the Wilson Memorial Foundation in Sidney.

This all-volunteer organization was established in 2000 and, to date, has raised more than $475,000 through annual fundraisers and monetary donations. All funds go directly to patient care; no funds are used for administrative purposes. Events for 2016 will include a bowling outing in February, parade and auction in June, and golf scramble in August.
