Majority of Shelby County tax levies gains support

SIDNEY — The majority of Shelby County tax levies, with the exception of Graham Local School District, gained support on Tuesday.

Fairlawn Local School District’s tax levy passed with 323 for and 242 against.

Meanwhile, the village of Port Jefferson’s tax levy passed with a vote of 42 for the levy and 13 against.

The village of Lockington passed by gaining 14 votes for the tax levy and only nine voting no.

Washington Township’s current expenses tax levy passed with 236 votes of support compared to 114 who voted no; the township’s road’s tax levy also passed with 240 votes for the levy and 109 against.

Green Township’s tax levy was supported by 174 voters and 96 who were opposed.

Van Buren Township’s tax levy earned 432 votes for the levy with 77 voting against.

Graham Local School District’s tax levy was defeated in Shelby County a 0 to 2 vote on Tuesday. Results from Champaign County weren’t available at press deadline.

The Miami Valley Career Technology earned two votes for the bond issues and tax levy and only a single vote against.

All results are unofficial until the election is certified on Nov. 20.
