JC class of ‘65 reunites

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center High School class of 1965 celebrated their 50th annual class reunion May 30 at the

Family Life Center in Jackson Center.

The class was 23 boys and 23 girls, 27 of whom attended the reunion. Ten from the class are deceased. A table was set in their memory. A table was also set to honor 15 class members who had served in the military. A special remembrance was made for Gary Gross, who was killed in Vietnam.

The decorations and flowered centerpieces were provided by Janet Linker Johnson and her husband, Kelly. There was a plant for everyone who attended. A memorial table featured photos of deceased classmates.

Those attending from out of state were Dale Ambos, Lana Blythe Buehrers and her husband, Roger, all from Las Vegas; Ronnie and Geri Brunson from Missouri and Linda Trittschuh from Florida. Also attending were classmates Gerald Akers, Carol Argabright, Karen Bower, Will Fogt, Linda Fout, Rita Gerkey, Josephine Harman, LarRie Hull, Dick and Linda Jenkins, Janet Johnson, Christy Jones, Brent Kerns, Ruth Anne Lamb, Cynthia Lehman, Ron and Linda Leininger, Robert Lyme, Gary Mintchell, Neal Oakley, Nan Rose, Judy Sosby, Charlotte Williams and Ed York.

The class colors were scarlet and white. The class song was to the tune of “Today.” The class motto was, “Here endeth, here beginneth, not finished, just begun.”

The next reunion will be in 2020.
