Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, Oct. 26. A board welcome reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Wilson Atrium. The board meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in Adams Board Room.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.

Council will witness the presentation of a citizen life-saving award. Council also will consider adoption of ordinances to amend the municipal income tax ordinance and to amend the traffic-control map to add handicap-parking spaces. Council will consider the adoption of resolutions to authorize agreements with the Shelby County Public Defender Commission and with townships for fire and rescue contracts. Other resolutions to be considered would authorize an annexation and payment to a vendor.

Council will discuss canceling the December workshop meeting and the second regular meeting of December. In an executive session, council will discuss employment of a public official.

Jackson Center Village Council

JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center Village Council will meet Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the village offices.

Council will consider ordinances establishing new water and sewer rates, authorizing the village administrator to enter into contracts for furnishing fire protection outside the village limits, amending the income tax ordinance, and authorizing adjustments in 2015 appropriations. Council also will consider a resolution authorizing the one-time payment of $25 per hour to police officers who worked traffic security for the Pike Street paving project.

New Knoxville Board of Education

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Local Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the media center at the school. Items on the agenda include reports from the principals, superintendent and Education Association representative, employment of staff and approval of wellness inventive program expenditures.

Traffic Safety Network of Shelby County

SIDNEY — The Governor’s Community Traffic Safety Network of Shelby County will meet Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Shelby County Engineer’s Office, 500 Gearhart Road, Sidney.

The program will be presented by Bob Geuy, who will talk about the adventures of an elected county engineer. third quarter traffic stats will be presented for the city of Sidney, Shelby County and Ohio State Patrol along with Sidney Fire Department stats. Construction projects for the county, city and Ohio Department of Transportation will also be discussed.

North Central Ohio Solid Waste District

URBANA — The board of directors of the North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management District will hold its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Champaign County Community Center, 1512 S. U.S. Highway 68, Urbana.

Downtown Revitalization Task Force

SIDNEY — The city of Sidney Downtown Revitalization Task Force will meet Wednesday, Oct. 28, at noon at The Bridge Restaurant, 127 W. Poplar St.

Items on the agenda include an update on Heritage Ohio, a historic district report from Sidney City County and a report on Sidney Alive.

Regional Planning Commission Executive Board

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Regional Planning Commission Executive Board will meet Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 12:15 p.m. in the second floor conference room at the Shelby County Annex. Items on the agenda include surveys to be approved and a report from executive director Dianna Reisinger.
