During the February meeting, the Shelby County Fair vet, Dr. Tim Woodward came and talked to the members about the importance of biosecurity, how to properly take care of your fair animals, and discussed what it’s like to be a vet.

During the March meeting we went to Midwest Electric in St. Marys below is a list of some of the things we learned while at the meeting:

Midwest Electric Company in St. Marys, Ohio talked to the McCartyville Producers 4-H club members on March 3 directly after the club’s monthly meeting. Employees discussed the importance of safety within the job, especially when it comes to the clothing and protective gear they must wear. Among other things, employees discussed the education and training required to work for the company, and members were told that on-site training is very important for employees. Throughout the presentation, members got to see multiple safety demonstrations, and members learned about career options within the company. The McCartyville Producers 4-H Club learned a lot about the company and greatly enjoyed their experience.
