COLUMBUS — Five members Riverside FFA Officer Team attended the seventh annual Ohio FFA Legislative Leadership Conference (OLLC) held at the Ohio State House in Columbus.
The conference began with a presentation by a spokesman for the Ohio Farm Bureau about how FFA members can influence their elected officials on agricultural issues. Riverside officers learned about lobbyist, politics and how decisions are done at the state house.
Officers found it interesting because they learned how the legislative branch works at the local and state levels. Lastly, FFA members simulated working through agricultural legislative bills with constituents and members from both house and senate.
