Crashes

No citations were issued following a crash on Thursday at 5:13 p.m.

Carla L. Roberts, 44, of Piqua, was traveling westbound on state Route 47 and when attempting to turn southbound onto the Interstate 75 on ramp she was struck by an eastbound vehicle on state Route 47 in the left lane that was driven by Candace J. Huber, 64, 121 S. Wilkinson.

Roberts told police when she was attempting to turn, Huber whipped around someone, ran the light and crashed into her vehicle.

Huber told police she was following traffic, looked over at something and when she looked back up Roberts was turning in front of her. Huber said when she looked up, the light turned red and her vehicle was halfway into the intersection. She said she did not change lanes right before hand but attempted to swerve to the south to avoid Roberts’ vehicle yet still struck it.

Due to conflicting stories, police did not issue a citation.
