Police log

TUESDAY

-11:17 a.m.: shooting. Police were called to a residence on a report of a shooting. According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office’s calls for service report, someone called to say a man broke into the caller’s apartment on Kenwood Drive and said he had shot himself. Police Chief Will Balling said Tuesday afternoon the investigative section is still reviewing the incident, but it appears it was an attempted suicide with a gunshot wound to the shoulder area. The victim received a serious injury but he survived; however, he was still being medically treated Tuesday afternoon.

MONDAY

-3:46 p.m.: burglary. Zayna Williams, 768 Spruce Ave., reported a burglary at her residence. Stolen were $1,055 in cash, and a game system and a tablet computer, valued at $700.

-2:50 p.m.: warrant. Police arrested Arielle Jones, 19, of Wilberforce, on a warrant from Miami County.

SUNDAY

-3:33 p.m.: unruly juvenile. Police arrested a girl after a parent reported her as being an unruly child.

-3:33 p.m.: theft. Karina Parke, 425 1/2 N. Miami Ave., reported an Xbox 360, valued at $200, was stolen from 217 1/2 E. North St.

-1:02 p.m.: property found. A debit card found at an ATM was given to police.

-9:43 a.m.: criminal damaging. Julia Monnier, 316 S. Wilkinson Ave., reported fencing and poles at her residence were broken. Loss was $300.

-12:58 a.m.: missing person. Robert Gene Farmer, 32, 209 Jefferson St., was reported missing.

SATURDAY

-9:34 p.m.: warrant. Police arrested Amber Ward, 29, 1209 Hilltop Ave., Apt. F, on a warrant from Ross County.

-3:03 p.m.: theft. Tonia Shepherd, 1259 E. Court St., Apt. B, reported a ring, valued at $40, and $1.50 in coins were missing from her residence.

-3:01 p.m.: theft. Darrell Hewitt, 1599 St. Marys Ave., reported $40 was stolen from his vehicle.

-9:21 a.m.: criminal damaging. Timothy Pitchford, 10780 Stangel Road, reported someone used a key to scratch the the side of his truck.

FRIDAY

-6:41 p.m.: menacing. Dylan Van Horn, 402 Sixth Ave., reported someone threatened to assault him.

-3 p.m.: criminal damaging. A tire on the auto of Ann Wise, 417 N. Ohio Ave., was slashed overnight at the residence. Loss was $175.

-10:08 a.m.: endangering children. Shelby County Children Services reported the agency is investigating the health and welfare of a juvenile at a Sidney address.

Accident

Cheyenne McGee, 17, 851 E. Court St., was cited with failure to yield the right of way after an accident Friday at 2:40 p.m.

McGee pulled from the Sidney High School parking lot onto Campbell Road and her car hit a westbound auto driven by Christa Moses, 34, 706 Clinton Ave.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-2:27 a.m.: alarm. Firefighters were called to 1200 Children’s Home Road by a fire alarm. The alarm had been set off by burnt popcorn.

MONDAY

-1:55 a.m. to 10:25 p.m.: Medics responded to three calls.

-9:14 p.m.: open burn. Firefighters were called to an unauthorized open burn at 2651 Millcreek Road and extinguished the fire.

SUNDAY

-4:56 to 10:24 p.m.: Medics responded to three calls.
