Ohio Highway Patrol

The Piqua Post of the OHP cited a Cincinnati man with reckless operation, failure to control and failure to comply with a lawful order following a one-vehicle accident Saturday at 11:30 p.m.

Harold Howard, 49, of Cincinnati, was traveling southbound on Interstate 75 at a high rate of speed when he attempted to exit I-75 at the 83 mile marker in Piqua. The vehicle crashed and came to rest on its side.

A trooper tazered Howard after he failed to comply with orders issued by the trooper. Howard and a passenger, Tyra Adams, 21, Cincinnati, were treated for minor injuries at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.

• Troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the OHP responded to a fire on Interstate 75 Saturday around 9 p.m. at mile-marker 108 near Botkins. Anna Rescue and Botkins Fire also responded to the scene.

The fire allegedly began in a vehicle which was being hauled on a trailer, which was attached to a semi-tractor trailer. The semi-truck driver was able to detach the trailer from his vehicle.

I-75 was shut down while the fire was being extinguished. All lanes were open later in the evening.
