Sheriff’s log

MONDAY

-5:48 p.m.: property damage accident. Deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of South Main Avenue in Clinton Township on the report of a property damage accident.

-10:25 a.m.: investigative complaint. Deputies were dispatched to 13541 State Route 29 in Van Buren Township on the report of phone harassment.

SUNDAY

-10:20 p.m.: loud music. Deputies were dispatched to the 10000 block of Mohawk Court in Washington Township on the report of loud music in the area.

-7:31 p.m.: property damage accident. Deputies were dispatched to mile-marker 101 on Interstate 75 north on the report of a grey car in the ditch.

SATURDAY

– 11:27 a.m.: theft without consent. Lindsay D. Hogan, 228 Elizabeth St., Russia, reported a package was taken from the porch of her residence between Nov. 29 and Dec. 2. Clothing worth $146.77 was taken.

-10:19 a.m.: theft without consent. Omer E. Barker, 6839 Palestine St., Pemberton, reported the theft of three metal rims between 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, and noon Friday, Dec. 2. The rims were on the back porch of the residence. The items were valued at $375.

FRIDAY

-11:45 p.m.: telecommunications harassment. Tony M. Williams, Lima, has been charged with telecommunications harassment. A summons was issued by the Sheriff”s Office. According to the report, Williams allegedly sent threatening texts to Joseph and Brittany Renner, 7705 Hardin Wapakoneta Road, Sidney.

TUESDAY

-4:29 p.m.: investigative complaint. Jackson Center Police were dispatched to 312 N. Main St. in Jackson Township on the report of a possible scam.

-3:29 p.m.: investigative complaint. Jackson Center Police were dispatched to Lippert Components on Jerry Drive in Jackson Township on the report of missing equipment.

-8:18 a.m.: burglary. Anna Police were dispatched to 110 Young St. on the report the residence was broken into within the last two weeks.

Crashes

Shelby County Sheriff Deputies responded to a crash on Sunday at 7:31 p.m.

Prerna Tyagi, 28, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, was traveling northbound at mile-marker 103 on Interstate 75 when she encountered a slick spot on the roadway due to a recent snowfall and lost control of the vehicle causing it to go off the road to the right, went down an embankment, through a wire fence before coming to rest in a farm field.

The vehicle sustained only minor damages and was able to be driven away from the scene.

• Paul E. Ellis, 61, of 13555 Amsterdam Road, Anna, was cited for failure to yield at a stop or yield sign following a two-vehicle crash Sunday at 9:52 a.m.

Ellis was southbound on North Pike Street in Anna, approaching a four way intersection at Main Street. He failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Kristin Nichole Grimes, 19, 12275 State route 29, Anna, who was eastbound on West Main Street. When she approached the intersection, she had a green light.

Both Ellis and Grimes were transported to Wilson Health by Anna Rescue.

Both vehicles were disabled in the crash and towed from the scene.

Fire, rescue

MONDAY

-5:33 p.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Rescue, Port Jefferson Fire Department and CareFlight responded to the 4000 block of state Route 29 in Green Township.

-3:04 p.m.: fire. Anna Rescue and Van Buren Township Fire Department responded to the 3000 block of Cisco Road in Clinton Township.

-11:54 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Police responded to the 100 block of South Second Street.

-4:36 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue, Botkins Fire Department and Deputies responded to the 16000 block of state Route 274 in Dinsmore Township on the report of an accident with injuries.
