Sheriff’s log

TUESDAY

-10:40 a.m.: assist. Deputies were dispatched to Sidney Middle School to assist in regard to an irate parent.

-8:44 a.m.: assault. Deputies responded to Sidney Middle School on the report of an assault.

MONDAY

-12:31 p.m.: burglary. Deputies were dispatched to 7120 Lock Two Road in Van Buren Township on the report of an open door on the outbuilding.

-10:40 a.m.: property damage accident. Deputies were dispatched to Children’s Home Road and Deam Roan in Orange Township on the report of a crash.

-8:38 a.m.: investigative complaint. Deputies were dispatched to 16985 Wones Road in Jackson Township on the report of a possible scam.

SUNDAY

-7:42 p.m.: property damage accident. Deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of South Kuther Road in Clinton Township on the report of a property damage accident.

Village log

MONDAY

-11:47 p.m.: investigative complaint. Botkins Police were dispatched to Budget Host Inn on East State Street on the report of an out-of-control male in the parking lot.

-8:42 p.m.: theft. Botkins Police responded to Circle K on East State Street on the report of a theft.

Crashes

John Roth, 39, of Jackson Center, and Kimberly Bradley, 41, of Sidney, were transported by Sidney Medics and Anna Rescue to Wilson Health following a two-vehicle crash on Sunday at 9:33 p.m.

Roth was traveling east on state Route 119 when he crossed the center line and slid into the westbound lane causing the westbound vehicle driven by Bradley to strike Roth’s vehicle.

Weather is believed to be a factor in the crash. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

• No one was cited for a crash on Sunday at 9:27 p.m.

Benjamin Sherman, 27, 8735 Patterson Halpin Road, Sidney, was traveling south on Patterson Halpin Road near the intersection of Cisco Road when he hit an icy patch on the roadway and slid off the road west, to the right, and rolled down an embankment. The vehicle came to a final rest on its wheels in a small creek.

• No one was cited for a crash on Sunday at 8:43 p.m.

Cara Kellerman, 19, 3783 Beulah Drive, Sidney, was traveling west on West Russell Road when she hit a slippery spot on the roadway, went off to the left side of the road and struck a telephone pole and a tree.

Kellerman was not transported for medical attention, but her vehicle sustained damage to the front left side.

• No one was cited for a crash on Sunday at 7:42 p.m.

Brent Long, 25, of Troy, was traveling south on South Kuther Road when he hit a slippery spot on the roadway causing him to go off the road to the left, strike a fire hydrant and then come to a rest along side of the hydrant.

The vehicle sustained damage to the front left side.

• Quinton Cox, 18, of Sidney, was cited for failure to control after a collision with a pole on Sunday at 1:21 p.m.

Cox was traveling east on Sharp Road when he lost control and went off the left side of the road. The left side of his vehicle scraped against a utility pole before going down into the ditch and striking another utility pole head on.

Cox was transported to Wilson Hospital by Anna Rescue with non-incapacitating injuries.

• Jason Schultz, 19, of Minster, was cited for assured clear distance after an accident on Friday at 5:08 p.m.

Schultz was traveling west bound on state Route 274 nearing the intersection of Wenger Road when he failed to see another vehicle also west bound in front of him slowing in the lane to make a right hand turn north on Wenger Road and struck the rear of the other vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle was Heather Stewart, 31, of Botkins. She was transported to Wilson Hospital by Anna Rescue with non-incapacitating injuries. Schultz was also transported to Wilson by Anna Rescue with possible injuries. Two passengers in Stewart’s vehicle were also transported with possible injuries.

• Shelby County Sheriff Deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 8 a.m.

John Drury, 16, 1750 River Road, Sidney, was on Houston High School property when he was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the vehicle driven by Kira Thomas, 16, 10598 Cisco Road, Sidney, that had stopped and was yielding to another vehicle.

• Brandon Bowman, 22, 1071 N. Kuther Road, Sidney, was transported by Anna Rescue to Lima Memorial Hospital after a collision on at Monday, Dec. 5 at 4:36 a.m.

Bowman was traveling east in the 16000 block of state Route 274 when he drifted off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing it to break off at the base. The vehicle continued traveling approximately 125-feet further before coming to a rest near the next telephone pole to the east on the north side of the roadway, facing southeast.

TUESDAY

-2:31 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins Police responded to the 500 block of Davis Street in Jackson Township.

-1:40 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins Police responded to the 400 block of West Pike Street in Jackson Township.

MONDAY

-11:54 p.m.: medical. Russia Fire Department and Versailles Life Squad responded to the 200 block of Elizabeth Street in Loramie Township.

-9:40 p.m.: fire. Houston Rescue and Fire Department, Lockington Fire Department, Port Jefferson Fire Department, Sidney Fire Department and Medics and Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Hardin Wapakoneta Road in Washington Township.

-9:31 p.m.: medical. Houston Rescue responded to the 10000 block of Millcreek Road in Washington Township.

-9:26 p.m.: fire. Anna Rescue responded to the 12000 block of Meranda Road in Franklin Township.

-7:12 p.m.: fire. Fort Loramie Fire Department and Police responded to the Dollar General on South Main Street in McLean Township.

-10:11 a.m: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins Police responded to the 300 block of East State Street in Dinsmore Township.

-6:19 a.m.: medical. Fort Loramie Rescue and Police responded to the 200 block of South Main Street in McLean Township.

SUNDAY

-9:33 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Fire Department, Sidney Medics and Fire Department and Deputies responded to the 14000 block of state Route 119 in Franklin Township on the report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

-9:27 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Deputies were dispatched to Cisco Road and Patterson Halpin Road in Turtle Creek Township on the report of a one-vehicle rollover crash.
