Police seek info about robbery

SIDNEY — The Sidney Police Department, along with Sidney Crime Stoppers, is seeking assistance from the public finding a robbery suspect.

On Monday, Aug. 17, about 2:53 a.m., the Fuel Stop, 125 W. Court St., was robbed by an individual displaying a knife. A light-skinned black male, skinny in build, wearing a dark hoody with a white garment around his face, blue jeans, dark shoes and white coverings over hands entered the store. After demanding and receiving the money from the clerk, the suspect fled out the door and ran southwest, cutting between houses.

The Sidney Police Department is requesting help from the public in identifying the person responsible. Anyone with information can contact the Sidney Police Department at 937-498-2351. Information may also be submitted to Detective Capt. Jerry Tangeman (937-498-8126 or [email protected]) or through the Crime Stoppers tip line (492-TIPS). A reward of up to $500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. Callers will remain anonymous.

The funds used for Crime Stoppers’ rewards are raised through donations and Municipal Court fines. Tax dollars are not used to pay rewards.
