SIDNEY — A Michigan man was arrested following a traffic violation in Shelby County. the arrest led to the discovery of drugs in the vehicle.
On May 16, 2017, at 10:43 a.m., troopers stopped a 2017 Nissan Altima with Michigan registration, for a following too closely violation on Interstate 75 southbound, near milepost 86 in Shelby County. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A consent search of the driver revealed multiple bags of morphine sulfate pills, worth $5,908.
The driver, Allen B. Perry, 35, of Detroit, Michigan, was incarcerated in the Shelby County Jail and charged with possession of schedule II substance, a second-degree felony, and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.
