SUNDAY

-9:28 p.m.: assault. Police are investigating the report of an alleged assault.

-6:48 p.m.: unruly juvenile. A 15-year-old female was charged with being unruly.

-4:44 p.m.: found property. A Mongoose bicycle was found near Emerson Elementary School on Campbell Road and was turned into the police department.

-4:35 p.m.: found property. A machete was found near 1520 Spruce Ave. and was turned into the police department.

-3:58 p.m.: theft. Police are investigating the report made by Shawn Sprague, 46, 222 S. Walnut Ave. of the theft of an unknown amount of money.

-3:38 p.m.: lost property. Vicki Coburn, 62, 121 W. Poplar St., reported a lost LG cellphone and turned in a found Microsoft smartphone to the police department.

-11:21 a.m.: animal bite. Police are investigating the report made by Jonathan Cotterman, 35, 1842 Robert Place, that he was bitten by an animal.

-3:20 a.m.: breaking and entering. Phillip Hodge, 40, 818 Linden Ave., was arrested for breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools.

-12:14 a.m.: assault. Police are investigating an alleged assault that occurred in the 1500 block of Port Jefferson Road.

SATURDAY

-10:45 p.m.: burglary. Police are investigating the report made by Megan Wade-Allen, 33, 490 Addy Ave., that someone entered her home and took her kitten.

-7:29 p.m.: theft. Police are investigating the report of the possible theft of electric that was made by Raymond Osborn, 33, 3350 Leatherwood Creek Road.

-5:56 p.m.: criminal trespass. A 17-year-old female was charged with criminal trespass and obstructing official business after a trespassing report was made by CSX Transportation, of Jacksonville, Florida.

-11:53 a.m.: arson. Police are investigating an arson fire at 201 W. Water St., which is a multi-floor building of vacant apartments.

-10:38 a.m.: theft. Thomas Kimbler, 26, 755 Grandview St., reported the theft of a Glock handgun, valued at $500, and a tactical sling backpack, valued at $50, from his vehicle at his residence.

-1:54 a.m.: warrant. Milecha Whitacre, 40, 1882 Shawnee , was arrested on a Logan County warrant.

FRIDAY

-10:04 p.m.: criminal damaging. Jerry Stanley II, 50, 119 E. South St., reported damage to the passenger’s side window on his vehicle at his residence.

-10 p.m.: criminal damaging. It was reported someone broke the Plexiglas on a kiosk at the Canal Feeder Trail.

-5:28 p.m.: theft. Brianna Johnson, 26, 523 N. Miami Ave., reported a Roadmaster bicycle was stolen from her residence.

-1:41 p.m.: probation violation. Jerrod Scott, 24, 1117 Hilltop Ave., Apt. D, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

-1:24 p.m.: theft. Subway on Michigan Street reported the theft of $100 from the business.

-10:03 a.m.: criminal damaging. A water meter bolt and lock were reported damaged at 307 Lake Street.

-8:48 a.m.: warrant. Leslie Strand, 41, Dayton, was arrested on a warrant.

-8:44 a.m.: theft. Jayde Ballanrd, 19, Naples, Florida, was arrested for theft after Lowe’s Home Improvement on Michigan Street reported the theft of a Dewalt combo tool kit, valued at $399, and a Husqvarna chainsaw, valued at $299.

-6:21 a.m.: assault. Police are investigating an alleged assault.

THURSDAY

-10 a.m.: found property. An Ohio driver’s license belonging to Todd Harshbarger, 43, 403 Summit St., was found in the area of Spruce Avenue and turned into the police department.

Aug. 23

-4 p.m.: theft. Daniel Spangelberger, 35, Troy, reported his Snap-on impact drill, valued at $400, was stolen at 2410 Michigan Street.

Aug. 21

-9:38 a.m.: contaminating substances. Police are investigating the report made by Juanita Didier, 48, 525 Rauth St., that someone put drugs into a drink that she consumed at 2450 Campbell Road.

Crashes

Joseph Elsten, 71, of Temperance, Michigan, was cited with improper lane change following a two-vehicle crash on Monday at 9:32 a.m.

Elsten was traveling southbound on state Route 29 near Brookburn Street in the left lane when he failed to see and struck the southbound vehicle in the right lane on state Route 29 that was driven by Harold Warner, 48, of Urbana.

• David Crim, 23, of Port Jefferson, was cited with assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash on Friday at 9:58 p.m.

Crim was traveling westbound on Michigan Street when he struck a stopped vehicle at the red light at Interstate 75 that was in front of him.

The other vehicle was driven by Brian Wyke, 38, 722 Arrowhead Drive.

• Zachary Webb, 18, 629 E. Parkwood St., was cited with assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle on Friday at 3:38 p.m.

Webb was traveling eastbound on Park Street at the intersection of Fourth Avenue when he rear-ended the vehicle in front of him that was driven by Debbie Creech, 56, 1001 Fourth Ave., Apt. 16.

• No one was cited following a crash on Friday at 2:32 p.m.

Inderjeet Singh, 57, of Brampton, was stopped at the red light on state Route 47 in the left turn lane approximately 10-feet past the stop bar at the intersection of Interstate 75 when another vehicle that was turning left onto state Route 47 from the I-75 exit ramp made a sharp turn and struck the front end of Singh’s vehicle.

According to the police report, Singh was partly at fault for being too far into the intersection, but Ray Knight, 76, 1070 S. Kuther Road, who was the driver of the other vehicle, was also at fault because he turned too sharply and struck Singh’s vehicle.

• Francis Copeland, 85, 804 S. Walnut Ave., was cited with operation without control after a crash on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 11:20 a.m.

Copeland was traveling northbound on South Walnut Avenue when he struck the left rear corner of the trailer attached to a parked vehicle facing the north on South Walnut Avenue.

The other vehicle is owned by Charles Pipke, of Wapakoneta.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-8:19 a.m.: carbon monoxide. Firefighters conducted a carbon monoxide investigation.

-7 a.m. to 12:32 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to four calls.

MONDAY

-11:23 p.m.: fire. Firefighters responded to the report of a car fire.

-7:31 p.m.: odor. Crews conducted an odor investigation.

-7:19 a.m.: carbon monoxide. Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide incident.

-7:07 p.m.: fire. Crews conducted a false fire alarm investigation.

-6:04 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to seven calls.

SUNDAY

-11:22 p.m.: odor. Firefighters conducted and odor investigation in 700 block of Countryside Lane. Nothing was found.

-6:02 p.m.: fire alarm. Crews responded to the city’s municipal offices on West Poplar Street for a trouble fire alarm.

-1:50 p.m.: service call. Medics responded to 517 Wilkinson Ave. for a service call.

-10:28 a.m. to 9:29 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to seven calls.
