To the editor:

The Vets to DC Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of Sidney and Shelby County who donated to the Wreaths Across America campaign this year. Through your efforts, we will be placing approximately 425 wreaths on the graves of Veterans at Graceland Cemetery and at cemeteries around the county on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018.

We would also like to remind those who purchased wreaths to be picked up, they will be available for you any time after 10:30 a.m. at the maintenance building area.

If you volunteered to help place the wreaths at Graceland, the ceremony will begin at noon sharp. Following the ceremony, we will first place approximately 50 wreaths at the graves around the flag, and then proceed on Veterans’ graves in Section 6 at the cemetery.

The weather doesn’t look like it will be that nice, but we will be placing these wreaths and honoring these Veterans “rain or shine, hot or cold” — just like they performed their duties for us.

We hope to see you all there this Saturday, Dec. 15.
