To the editor:

On Monday, April 4th, a wonderful event took place for Morgan’s Place Cemetery. After losing a child, and later another, Nathan and Mollie Verdier were called to create Morgan’s Place. Its mission is to assist bereaved individuals and families in dealing with this type of loss. A large part of this mission is to provide “a forever resting place for the unborn.” The site of Morgan’s Place is 1254 State Route 589 in southeastern Shelby County.

As can be expected, an undertaking of this nature cannot be accomplished without the assistance and cooperation of countless entities. We are happy to say that the residents of Shelby and surrounding counties are noted for this kind of effort, and true to form, did so again on the above mentioned evening.

The event, “A Night with the Producer,” was held at St. Michael’s Hall in Fort Loramie. Thanks to Dahlinghaus Catering for a wonderful meal and to Danny Schneible for his music. Emceeing was Tracy Kies from 105.5 TAM FM. Christian movie producer, Joe Knopp, was the keynote speaker and introduced the film “I Can Only Imagine.” KB Design and Consulting from McCartyville furnished table settings and decorations. Much gratitude is owed to the countless individuals, businesses, and organizations that donated pies, beverages, and raffle and silent auction prizes. The approximately 400 attendees who chose to support the fundraiser need also to be recognized.

Many students were asked to volunteer their time for “A Night with the Producer.” They greeted guests, served food, and assisted with clean up. They were fantastic. If you are the parent of one of these children, you can be extremely proud!

Praise to God for inspiring and blessing Morgan’s Place Cemetery and “A Night with the Producer.”
