Many thanks to Mr. Don Sharp for his article on the earliest days of Legion baseball in Sidney. The late Dick McCoy was my father-in-law and the late Donnie Schulze was my wife’s uncle. The article by Mr. Sharp brought smiles to our families’ faces and warmed our hearts.

Dick McCoy went on to Miami University to play basketball and was recruited to play football at Miami for then-coach Ara Parseghian. Donnie Schulze played baseball at Xavier University and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Thanks again for sharing your memories Mr. Sharp, your story made our day!
