To the editor:

It is almost time to put the year 2016 in the books and turn the page to welcome in 2017. But before that is done, FISH of Shelby County, Inc. want to thank everyone that made this year a success for us. Due to your generosity we have been able to continue to help the less fortunate of our community. We have been able to provide needed prescriptions, food, clothing, household items and steel toed shoes for people that wouldn’t have been able to get these items on their own.

We just finished our fifth year of the “Candy Cane Shoppe” and the children that participated were so excited to be able to purchase (with FISH play money) presents for their families. The smiles of their faces were priceless and they were so proud of the gifts they purchased. You, our community made this event possible.

We are still in need of children’s coats. We can’t seem to keep them in stock. If you can help with this problem, we would appreciate it. Children grow so quickly, you may have a good, used coat hanging in a closet that would help another child keep warm.

On behalf of all the volunteers at FISH, I want to thank everyone for the support shown us. If you would like to be a part of our “FISH family” please stop in our shop or give us a call. We would welcome speaking with you.
