Jim Dabbelt of the The Dabbelt Report is hosting the service’s third annual underclass all-star game on Wednesday at Edison State in Piqua.

Four area players will participate in the Division III/IV game, which will start at 7:30 p.m. Fort Loramie sophomore Marissa Meiring, Russia junior Laurissa Poling, Minster freshman Ivy Wolf and Minster junior Courtney Prenger will all play on the Div. III/IV West team.

Prenger and Wolf, who help Minster claim the Division IV state championship last Saturday in Columbus, averaged 11.7 and 9.9 points per game, respectively. Prenger, who is verbally committed to Xavier, also averaged 6.9 rebounds per game.

Poling averaged 10.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, while Meiring 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

The event features the top girls players in the Miami Valley.

Previously held at Urbana High School, the game has been renamed for former Urbana head coach Bill Moss, who died last December. He spent four decades in the sport.

“It is a perfect way to honor his legacy and what he has meant to this game,” Dabbelt, the co-founder of the event with Moss, said. “There were not many people as dedicated to this game as coach Moss was.”

The Division I/III game will take place at 6 p.m. Between games, several of the area’s top seniors will be recognized for their successful seasons.

Admission to the event is $5.
