The Sidney High wrestling team had a good showing in the 16-team Sparta Highland pool tournament on Saturday.

Sidney placed 10th overal and had top four finishes from Javon Purk and Seth Vonderheuvel.

“This was a very challenging tournament and I’m pleased with the overall direction of our young team,” said Sidney head coach Clayton Westerbeck. “We have a great deal of growth to make happen this season. And we are also working to get the correct lineup going.”

The Yellow Jackets return to action Thursday night at home against Indian Lake and Wapakoneta. The match will start at 6 p.m.
