MIAMISBURG — The last remaining area girls’ golfers had their seasons end during the Division II district tournament on Wednesday at Pipestone Golf Course.
The top three teams advanced to regionals, as well as the top three individuals not on a qualifying team. Versailles was the only area squad that advanced to districts and finished sixth overall, and three other area individuals did not advance.
Versailles’ Morgan Barlage had the best score of local golfers with an 88, which was good for a sixth-place finish. Morgan Heitkamp had a 91, Maddie Durham shot 94 and Alexis Jay shot 105.
Fort Loramie’s Eva Bolin and Riverside’s Dana Jones tied for 18th with a 94, while Anna’s Breah Kuck was 27th with a 96.
Anna boys golf 10th at Div. II district tourney
Anna’s boys golf squad finished 10th in the Div. II tournament at Glenview Golf Course in Cincinnati. The top three teams advanced to regionals, as did the top three individuals not on a qualifying team.
Cole Maurer had Anna’s best score. He finished tied for 44th individually with an 87. Bryce Cobb shot 88 for the Rockets and Bryce Havenar and Spencer McClay each shot 94.

The Yellow Jackets won a Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division match on Wednesday in Sidney.
Senior forward Elaine Wiesenmayer scored two goals and had one assist, while Khia McMillen scored one goal and had two assists. Wiesenmayer ranks first among players in the 20-team GWOC with 25 goals and second with 13 assists, while McMillen is fourth in goals (14) and first in assists (20).
