GREENVILLE — The Sidney High boys bowling team remained unbeaten on the year with its most dominating performance yet, a 721-pin victory over Greenville in Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division action at Greenville.

The score was 2601 to 1880.

The win put the Yellow Jackets at 8-0 in North play and 11-0 overall heading into a match at Fairborn on Wednesday, two days before a battle at home against Vandalia, which is also 8-0 in the league and is 9-0 overall.

“We bowled very well again,” said Sidney coach Trent Knoop. “It was a good pickup after a rough outing in Piqua.”

Austin Simon was outstanding for the Jackets, rolling back-to-back 279 games for a 558 series.

Josh Abbott rolled a 449 on games of 227 and 222, Matt Elliott rolled a 222 and a 170 for a 376, and Sean Martin had a 201 and a 175 for a 376.

In his only game, Brock Fleming rolled a 235.

Sidney had 2156 in regular games and a 445 in baker on games of 213 and 232.

The junior varsity boys were also victorious and remained unbeaten on the year.

Girls

The Sidney girls were also victorious at Greenville, winning 1957 to 1732.

It ran the Lady Jackets’ record on the year to 6-2 in the league and 6-5 overall.

Jenna Beatty had a 415 series on games of 203 and 212, and Heather Gold added a 365 on games of 180 and 185.

Kathryn Saunders had a 146 and a 154 for a 300, Bethany Yinger bowled a 164 game and Cameron Fogle a 157 game.

“The girls bowled well tonight,” said Knoop. “Spare shooting as a whole was better tonight, which leads to good things.”

The Sidney girls had 1649 in regular games and 308 in baker.

The Lady Jacket JV team also won. Avonell Martin had a 225 game and a 385 series, and Courtney Bridenbaugh had a 319 series.
