Jackson ranked No. 2 in firstvolleyball state coaches poll

The unbeaten Jackson Center Lady Tigers are ranked No. 2 in the first Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association state rankings, announced this week.

The Lady Tigers received 10 first-place votes. They are 9-0 on the season heading into a match today with Lima Catholic, and trail only McComb in the rankings. McComb is the team Fort Loramie defeated in the Division 4 state championship game last fall.

Jackson is one of four Shelby County teams to be ranked. Lehman is 9-3 and ranked No. 6 in D-4, and defending state champion Fort Loramie is 7-5 on the season and ranked right behind Lehman in the No. 7 spot.

And the Anna Lady Rockets, 8-3 after falling to Jackson Center Thursday, are ranked 20th in D-3.

Marion Local is ranked No. 5 in D-4, and New Bremen and New Knoxville are tied for the No. 13 spot. New Bremen defeated Marion Local Thursday night.

In D-3, the Versailles Lady Tigers are ranked 12th, one spot behind 11-0 St. Henry.
