The Lehman High School girls soccer team was voted the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Division II North Sectional Tournament, which begins next Monday.

The Lady Cavaliers, ranked No. 3 in the latest Miami Valley Coaches Poll, are 9-4-1 on the season and drew a first-round bye that will likely pair them up with county rival Anna in the second round. Anna is the No. 5 seed and plays at home Monday against Southeastern.

Botkins was seeded No. 8 and will play Newton at home Monday.

Division 1

The Sidney girls were voted the No. 5 seed and will take on Fairmont at home on Monday at 7 p.m. in the first round. The winner will play either Wayne or Piqua next Thursday.

Boys

Sidney seeded 7th

The Sidney Yellow Jackets, 11-2-2 on the year going into Tuesday’s play, got the No. 7 seed for the Dayton 1 Sectional and will play its first tournament game next Tuesday at home against the Bellefontaine Chieftains, the No. 12 seed.

A win by the Jackets would put them in the semifinals on Oct. 24 against either Wayne or Tecumseh, also at home.

Division 3

Botkins was the highest seed among the boys in the Dayton 3 Sectional.

The Trojans are seeded 11th, Lehman 17th, Jackson Center 18th and Fairlawn 22nd.

The tournament also begins next Tuesday, with Fairlawn and Jackson Center in action. Fairlawn plays No. 4 seed Bethel on the road, and Jackson travels to Stivers.

Lehman plays the Bethel-Fairlawn winner Oct. 24 in the semifinals, and Botkins plays Newton that same day in the semifinals.
