Fort Loramie graduate Julie Hoying was outstanding this week in volleyball for Marian University in Indianapolis.

The 5-foot-9 sophomore setter played three games this week and finished with a total of 109 assists, bringing her season total to 864.

She had 32 assists, four kills and seven digs in a 3-1 loss to St. Francis, 43 assists and 13 digs in a 3-1 loss to Grace, and 34 assists and seven kills in a 3-0 win over Bethel.

Ashley Borchers, Russia — Borchers continued her strong play at Ohio Northern in volleyball this week. She had five kills, 30 assists and eight digs in a 3-0 win over Marietta, 37 assists and seven kills in a 3-0 win over Mt. Union, and 37 assists, five kills and eight digs in a 3-1 win over Ottebein.

She is a big reason Northern is 24-5 on the season.

Claire Heitkamp, Marion Local — Heitkamp also plays for the talented Ohio Northern team, and in action this week, she had six kills and five digs against Marietta, six kills against Mt. Union and 11 kills against Otterbein.

Kelly Turner, Fort Loramie — Turner continues to play well in her freshman season at Northern Kentucky. This week, she had seven kills and four block-assists in a 3-2 loss to Milwaukee, and 11 kills and three blocks in a 3-2 win over Green Bay.

Brittany Bailey, Botkins — Bailey finished 40th out of 102 runners and helped Wright State to third place in the Horizon League cross country championships last weekend. Her time was 23:40.

Meg Reineke, New Knoxville — Reineke slammed 20 kills for Sinclair and added 16 digs in a 3-0 win over UC-Clermont, and followed that with 11 kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 win over Cuyahoga, in volleyball this week. Sinclair is 18-10 on the season.

Ashley Pleiman, Fort Loramie — Pleiman continues to take on a bigger role in volleyball at Owens Tech since coming back recently from an injury. In the one game the team had this week, a 3-1 win over Cincinnati Tech, Pleiman had 10 kills and five block-assists to help Owens to their 34th win of the season.

Bri Wells-Barnes, Sidney — Wells-Barnes led Edison in a 3-1 loss to Cuyahoga this week in volleyball, finishing with nine kills and adding two ace serves.

Allison Watkins, Fairlawn — Watkins is a teammate of Wells-Barnes at Edison and in the game against Cuyahoga, she was impressive, finishing with 36 assists and 17 digs.

Tori Thompson, Riverside — Thompson had a big week in volleyball at Ohio Dominican, with nine kills against Findlay, 18 kills, 12 digs and three blocks in a 3-2 loss to Hillsdale, and 15 kills and seven digs in a 3-0 win over Tiffin.

Amanda Winner, Versailles — Winner was outstanding for Findlay in voleyball this week. She had seven kills, six digs and three blocks in a 3-0 win over Tiffin, 17 kills, five digs and three blocks in a 3-0 win over Ohio Dominican, and 13 kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 loss to Hillsdale.

Ellie Cain, Lehman — Cain had a good week at Tennessee-Martin, finishing with 44 assists, 16 digs and three aces in a 3-1 win over Southern Illinois, and 49 assists and 11 digs in a 32 loss to Eastern Illinois.

Andrea Thobe, Lehman — Thobe had 55 assists, 10 digs and five block-assists for Wheeling Jesuit it a 3-1 win over Virginia-Wise in volleyball this week.

Jessica Thobe, Lehman — Jessica had 28 digs for Wheeling Jesuit in the win over Virginia-Wise.

Isaac Kuntz, New Knoxville — Kuntz finished 21st overall in 26:35.4 to help Heidelberg to a fourth-place finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference cross country meet last weekend.

Matthew Tussing, Jackson Center — Tussing also ran for Heidelberg last week and placed 26th in 26:46.6.

Emily Borchers, Russia — Borchers, a freshman at Dayton, finished 57th out of 129 runners in the Atlantic-10 Conference cross country championships last weekend. Her time was a personal record 18:41.5.
