TUESDAY

-11:52 a.m.: forgery. Deputies were dispatched to 10804 Little Turtle Way in Washington Township on the report of bad checks written to the Girl Scouts.

MONDAY

-6:23 p.m.: theft. Deputies were dispatched to 21077 Linker Road in Jackson Township on the report of someone selling their wedding ring on Craigslist and not being paid.

-10:03 a.m.: vandalism. Deputies were dispatched to 10995 Little Turtle Way in Washington Township on the report of a house and vehicle being egged.

-3:14 a.m.: burglary. Deputies were dispatched to 12300 E. Shelby Road in McLean Township on the report that someone had been in the garage of the residence.

SUNDAY

-9:40 p.m.: investigative complaint. Deputies were dispatched to 14170 Charm Hill Drive in Orange Township on the report that someone was shooting around the residence.

-11 a.m.: criminal damaging. Aspin Rea Crowder, Piqua, was arrested for criminal damaging after allegedly breaking out a window at 9461 State Route 29, Sidney.

SATURDAY

-9 a.m.: unruly juvenile. Deputies arrested a 15-year-old girl on unruly juvenile offenses and obstructing official business.

FRIDAY

-8:40 p.m.: inducing panic. Chad Christopher Wilson, 88 Meadowlane Drive, Sidney, was charged with inducing panic.

-5:36 p.m.: burglary. Melissa A. Mallory, 15907 Morris Rose Road, Jackson Center, reported someone entered her residence and took a jewelry box and the items which were inside.

MONDAY

-7:37 p.m.: burglary. Botkins Police was dispatched to 108 S. Main St. on the report of a burglary.

Accidents

Gunnar Douglas Francis, 21, 11234 Schenk Road, Sidney, was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to control and no safety belt following a one-vehicle accident Tuesday at 12:18 a.m.

According to the report, Francis was westbound in the 3000 block of Millcreek Road in Washington Township. The vehicle went left of center and off the left side of the road. The vehicle continued off the roadway through yards before crashing through a wooded line of trees.

The vehicle struck trees and two large rocks before coming to rest in a planted corn field.

Francis refused an alcohol test. The report states drug/alcohol use is suspected.

Francis was transported to Wilson Hospital by Houston Rescue. A passenger in the vehicle, Robert Austin Blankenship, 22, 8460 Houston Road, Houston, was transported to Wilson Hospital by Sidney Medics.

Francis’s vehicle was disabled in the accident and towed from the scene.

• Mitchell F. Siegel, 22, 10985 HB Hole Road, Versailles, was charged with failure to comply with an order, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating an ATV on the roadway Saturday at 2:32 a.m.

According to the report, a deputy observed Siegel driving an ATV westbound on Michigan Street through the intersection of Kuther Road. The deputy activated his overhead lights on the cruiser and Siegel failed to stop. The deputy then activated his siren and Siegel failed to slow down or come to a stop.

As Siegel approached the intersection of Hardin Wapakoneta Road, he turned southbound into the yard of the residence. He then turned the ATV onto the property at 4625 Hardin Wapakoneta Road. As he made a sharp turn, Elliot Didier, 21, Greenville, a passenger on the ATV, fell off.

Siegel drove the ATV behind some bushes and turned off the ATV’s lights. The deputy exited the cruiser and advised Didier to remain still as he checked the area for Siegel. Siegel was standing by the ATV and was placed under arrest.

Siegel was transported to the Shelby County Jail.

• Arlene Davis, 69, 1305 Rutledge St., Sidney, was backing from Seven Point Court Saturday at 10:09 a.m. onto Charm Hill Drive when she struck a parked vehicle owned by Lucille Dunbar, 621 East Ave., Sidney. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

• Ronald Nelson Selvage, 45, New Carlisle, was cited for failure to control following an accident Monday, May 30, at 1:54 p.m.

Selvage was eastbound on state Route 29 when he came upon several vehicles stopped in the roadway. He was unable to come to a complete stop and the vehicle slid onto its side. The vehicle came to rest between a vehicle and the guardrail.

He was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.

His vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• Tyler Eugene Barhorst, 20, Troy, was cited for assured clear distance following a two-vehicle accident Monday, May 30, at 1:37 p.m.

Taylor Ann Ahrns, 25, 10 W. Park St., Fort Loramie, was stopped to turn into a drive at 8274 State Route 66 when Barhorst was unable to stop in time and struck the vehicle.

Barhorst’s vehicle was disabled in the accident and towed from the scene. Ahrns’s vehicle sustained moderate damage.

• Jacob M. Minnich, 26, DeGraff, was eastbound on Dingman Slagle Road Monday, May 30, at 7:40 a.m. when his vehicle ran off the south side of the road. He overcorrected and ran across the road, off the north side of the road into a ditch. The vehicle struck a power pole, damaging it and continued into a field.

The vehicle was disabled in the accident and towed from the scene.

• Deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident Sunday, May 29, at 4:33 p.m.

Daniel S. Wourms, 48, 225 E. Lyndhurst St., Sidney, was traveling east on Mason Road nearing the intersection of Thompson Schiff Road. Wourms attempted to make a left hand turn onto Thompson Schiff Road and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

Wourms struck a vehicle driven by Denise K. Palmer, 57, 17030 Mason Road, Sidney, who was westbound on Mason Road in the intersection.

Palmer’s vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene. Wourms’s vehicle sustained moderate damage.

• Donald R. Brummitt, 50, Piqua, was traveling north on County Road 25A Sunday at 10 p.m when a coyote entered the road. Brummitt was unable to avoid striking the animal and it was killed.

His vehicle sustained moderate damage.

TUESDAY

-2:56 p.m.: medical. Houston Rescue responded to the 1400 block of South Kuther Road in Washington Township.

-6:11 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue, Perry Port Salem Rescue, Wapakoneta Fire Department and Botkins Police responded to the 300 block of East Walnut Street in Dinsmore Township.

-5:47 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue, Perry Port Salem Rescue, and Jackson Center Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Redbud Circle in Jackson Township.

MONDAY

-11:16 p.m.: medical. Minster Life Squad and Deputies responded to the 12000 block of Lotus Road in McLean Township.

-10:43 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Anna Police responded to the 100 block of East South Street in Franklin Township.

-12:36 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue, Perry Port Salem Rescue, and Jackson Center Police responded to the 200 block of Hamer Street in Jackson Township.

-10:47 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Botkins Police responded to the 100 block of Debra Drive in Dinsmore Township.

-5:07 a.m.: medical. Perry Port Salem Rescue responded to the 12000 block of Ailes Road in Salem Township.

SUNDAY

-10:47 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue responded to the 12000 block of Lochard Road in Dinsmore Township.

-5:45 p.m.: medical. Botkins Police and Fire Department responded to County Road 25A and state Route 274 on a two-vehicle accident.

The State Highway Patrol received a call at 8:55 a.m. of a crash that began northbound as a semitrailer attempted to change lanes to the left and sideswiped another vehicle in the left lane causing it to cross the median and hit two other on-coming vehicles that were traveling southbound. There were no injuries and the semitrailer remains at large. The crash caused an hour long back up in traffic.
