Midmark announces fundraiser

DAYTON — Midmark has announced its second annual 4 Miles for Heart and Health fundraising event will be at 10 a.m., Oct. 21, starting at Midmark’s Versailles campus, 60 Vista Drive, and ending at the Winery at Versailles.

The running, jogging or walking event raises funds and awareness of heart disease and the importance of vascular screenings.

Former Midmark teammate Bob Menke passed away of heart disease in 2015 at 38. With a healthy lifestyle and no family history, his condition went undiagnosed. A low-cost vascular screening could have saved his life. The Menke family, Midmark and Wayne HealthCare of Greenville teamed last year to help prevent this from happening to anyone else.

The mission of the event is to honor Menke and to help make vascular screenings more accessible to save lives.

This year’s event is sponsored by Midmark, Premier Health, Independent Medical Co-op, National Distribution and Contracting, Orthopedic Associates of SW Ohio, Darke County Wellness Challenge, Wayne HealthCare and Rocketship Sports Management; the Winery at Versailles and Ghyslain Chocolatier will offer wine, chocolate gifts and prizes to participants at the finish line.
