SIDNEY — The junior class at Fairlawn Local Schools will be hosting prom at the Shelby Oaks Golf Club on Saturday, June 29, 2017. This year’s theme is “Las Vegas Nights” and will have special casino style decorations designed and built by Fairlawn Ag students.
A catered dinner, provided by the Spot Restaurant, will start at 6:30 p.m. The dinner will include baked chicken, roast beef, buttered corn, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, and drinks. The music will be provided by disc jockey Travis Tegtmeyer and the dance and crowning of the king and queen will take place at 8 p.m.
The queen candidates for this year’s prom are Elizabeth Huffman, daughter of Scott Huffman and Diane Huffman; Patricia Huffman, daughter of Scott Huffman and Diane Huffman; Brittney Morris, daughter of Elizabeth Morris; and Beth Weigandt, daughter of Jason and Gwen Weigandt. King candidates are Nicholas Brautigam, son of Josh and Tricia Brautigam; Kody Curtner, son of David and Jennifer Curtner; Nathan Lessing, son of Amy Lessing; and Charles Vondenhuevel, son of Ben Vondenhuevel and Robin Cox.
The junior parents will be providing the after-prom party from midnight to 3 a.m. at Fairlawn. There will be laser tag, obstacle courses, a life-size memory game, lots of raffle prizes, and free drinks, pizza and snacks. The junior parents would like to send a special thank you to area businesses and parents for their help, contributions, and donations to make this after prom a success.
“Las Vegas Nights” is sure to be a night to remember. Viva Las Vegas!
