KETTLERSVILLE — Sale of the old town hall is still pending, Kettlersville Mayor Eric Kaminsky said Tuesday.
At the auction of the building May 22, the high bid was $10,000. This did not meet the reserve amount that Village Council had set. “Discussions are ongoing with the high bidder, but the sale has not closed yet,” Kaminsky said.
At its May meeting, council set a minimum bid of $20,000, according to meeting minutes.
In other business at the May meeting:
• Eric Kaminsky noted that a few income surveys need to be distributed. He will also follow up to see if surveys are being turned in.
• Council members David Greer and Karen Berning are to obtain estimates from contractors to mow village properties.
• The county is preparing a 30-by-30-inch sign for park rules at an approximate cost of $47.75. Fiscal Officer Linda Miller reported that if playground equipment were installed at the park, the liability coverage would cost approximately $150 per year, which would not cover replacement of equipment.
• Councilwoman Karen Berning is working on finding a company to sweep the village streets.
• The mayor is to follow up with Van Buren Township trustees in regard to green house number signs.
• On behalf of the Well Association, Karen Berning asked who should be contacted to repair the alley from the broken line this past winter. Several companies were recommended.
• Miller distributed a document from the Shelby County Board of Elections asking council to update its contact information.
