ROUND ROCK, Texas — Fort Loramie’s Jared Hoying has emerged from a lengthy hitting slump with the Texas Rangers top minor league affiliate in Round Rock, Texas. The outfielder got things rolling in his last four games by going 7-16 with three homers and five RBI. He actually decreased his strikeout ratio during the slump but couldn’t get the hits to fall.

For the season, his numbers are solid except for the low batting average. He’s appeared in 52 of his first place club’s 58 games (35-23), batting .222 (43-194) with ten doubles, five triples, 10 homers, 30 RBI, and 8-9 in stolen bases.

The Round Rock Express begins a road trip in Memphis on Thursday night.
