Chan joins Wilson Hospital

SIDNEY — Wilson Memorial Hospital has named Dr. James Chan as medical director of its emergency department.

Chan has been practicing medicine for more than five years, serving several hospitals throughout Ohio. He is board-certified in emergency medicine.

As the medical director, Chan will manage the emergency department and ensure that all patients receive appropriate medical attention.

Chan is no stranger to leadership roles, as he recently served as the facility medical director at Clinton Memorial Hospital. In addition, he has taught graduate students as an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University in California. Chan is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. He has also received the Research Excellence Award in the Department of Emergency Medicine from the Ohio State University.

Chan has also been an ultrasound education specialist for more than five years, which has led him to develop a multitude of educational videos on ultrasound imaging.

Chan graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a doctorate degree in electrical engineering and attended the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at the Ohio State University, where he cross-trained in trauma, orthopedic and pediatric patient management.
