Energy assistance available

SIDNEY — Community Action of Shelby County has begun its energy assistance summer crisis program.

Eligible residents can get up to $300 to help with utility bills and/or central air conditioning repair.

To be eligible, residents must suffer from a documented medical condition or be 60 or older. Documentation that must be provided includes evidence of the income for all household members who are 18 or older, Social Security numbers for all household members, proof of the medical condition, and copies of current electric and gas bills.

Regulated customers could qualify for up to $250. Unregulated customers could qualify for up to $300.
