ELBURN, Ill. — Cortney Copeland, 8, of Lewistown, was among 28 exhibitors from across the country who participated in the 2015 National Columbia Junior Show in Fairmont, Minnesota.

This was Cortney’s third time exhibiting in the National Junior Show, where she showed her ewes in the yearling ewe classes and Futurity Comeback Show. In addition to showing her sheep in individual classes, Cortney placed third in the Junior Showmanship division as one of the youngest competitors.

She is the daughter of Becky and Mike Copeland.

The Junior Show was in conjunction with the National Columbia Show and Sale, June 10-13. The 28 junior exhibitors from 10 states had nearly 100 entries in the show. In addition to the show, junior members had their annual meeting, competed in a junior mixer and a knowledge contest, enjoyed donuts before the show, and showed off their accurate aims at a dunk tank.

Next year’s show, the 75th anniversary of the National Show and Sale, will be in Minot, North Dakota. For information, visit www.columbiasheep.org.
