BRADFORD – A Troy man is dead following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 36 east of St. Rt. 721, south of Bradford.
Lt. Tom Wheeler of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office said that the crash occurred around 11:45 when a silver car, driven by Don Kendall, 79, of Troy was westbound on U.S. 36, crossed the center-line and struck an eastbound box truck, driven by Drew Kreitzer of Botkins.
The crash sent the Miller Textiles box truck into the side ditch while the car spun around and came to rest in the westbound lane of the highway.
CareFlight was initially called but was canceled when it was determined that Kendall had not survived the crash.
Kreitzer was checked out by medics but was not transported from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by deputies.
U.S. Route 36 was closed to traffic as a crash reconstruction team worked the scene. The last units cleared the scene an re-opened the highway at 2:43 p.m.
