SIDNEY — Shelby County Whitetails Unlimited has announced Outdoor Youth Day for Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shelby County Fish and Game, 9120 Sidney-Freyburg Road.
The event is open to children 7-15 and registration is required by Aug. 6. Parents can register their children by emailing their names, ages, and T-shirt sizes to [email protected] No more than 120 children may participate.
The day will include trap shooting, a fishing derby, paint ball shooting, rock wall climbing, archery, safety instruction and a shooting simulator. There will be raffles and awards. Lunch will be provided.
There is no charge, but Shelby County Whitetails Unlimited will accept nonperishable food items for donation to a local food pantry.
Other organizations participating are the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Ohio Division of Wildlife and Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration.
