Church plans concert

BOTKINS — Immaculate Conception Parish, North Main Street, will present a concert titled, “New Traditions,” featuring Therese Santomieri Reed and Ellen Reed Garmann on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in the church.

The event is free and open to the public, and is presented in conjunction with the parish’s 150th anniversary. The concert will be followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments.

Mother and daughter Therese Santomieri Reed and Ellen Reed Garmann both grew up in Immaculate Conception Parish.

A registered nurse, Reed holds a nursing degree from Lima Technical College and is a care manager at Catholic Social Services. She served as choir director at the church for 25 years. She and her husband, Brad, live in Troy. Garmann holds a bachelor’s degree in organ performance from Ohio University, and a Master of Arts in theological studies from the University of Dayton. She serves as pastoral associate for adult education at St. Helen’s Parish in Dayton. Ellen, her husband, Dan, and their sons Oliver, 2, and Ian, born July 14, live in Tipp City.
